Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to teach, guide and stay in touch with you. This page explains what that is, why we need it, who sees it and what control you have.

1. Who we are

This policy applies to the website samkhyaacademy.com and to the learning programs, workshops, career sessions, assessments, job listings and startup advisory offered by SamkhyaAcademy ("we", "us"). We decide why and how your personal information is used, and we handle it in line with the laws that apply in India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

2. What we collect

We collect information you give us, and a small amount that is created when you use the site.

  • Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so our team cannot read them.
  • Profile and learning details: qualification, year of completion, job goal, education, work experience, skills and the program you are interested in.
  • Forms you submit: enquiries, program registrations, free workshop, demo class and career session requests, job interest, startup ideas submitted to Venture Launchpad, and the messages you write to us.
  • Assessments and tests: your answers and results in the career assessment and skill tests.
  • Messages and calls: what you send us by email or WhatsApp, and notes our team keeps about your conversations with us.
  • Technical information: your device type, the page you came from, the pages you read and how long you stayed. We store a scrambled version of your IP address (not the address itself) to prevent spam and abuse.
  • Email activity: when we send you an email from our contact list, we record whether it was delivered, opened and which links were clicked.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and run your account, and to verify your email address.
  • To answer your enquiries and book demo classes, workshops and career sessions.
  • To register you for programs and run them, including sharing schedules and learning material.
  • To give you assessment results and career guidance, and to recommend programs and jobs that fit your goals.
  • To contact you about programs, workshops, jobs, our blog and events, where you have agreed to hear from us (see section 5).
  • To understand how the site is used and to improve it.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.

4. Why we are allowed to use it

We use your information mainly because you gave it to us for a purpose and agreed, for example by ticking the consent box on a form. Where the law allows, we may also use it for things you would reasonably expect, such as replying to your request, keeping records, securing the site and meeting legal duties. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 9). Withdrawing does not affect what we did before, and some services cannot continue without the information they need.

5. Emails and WhatsApp

If you registered, enquired or gave us your number, we may email you or message you on WhatsApp about your request, our programs, workshops, jobs and articles. We only send promotional emails to people who have agreed to hear from us, we limit how often we write, and every such email has an unsubscribe link. You can also reply "stop" or write to us and we will remove you.

Our emails contain a tiny image and tracked links so we can see which messages were opened and which links were useful. This helps us send fewer, better emails. Some email apps load images automatically, so open counts are approximate. If you do not want this, unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

6. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We use:

  • A session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms. It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • A visitor cookie (sk_vid) that lasts up to a year. It lets us count how many different people read our blog articles, without knowing who they are.
  • Google Analytics, which helps us see which pages are visited and how people find us. Google may set its own cookies for this. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out add-on.

The site also links to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads and LinkedIn. These services have their own privacy policies and cookies once you open them.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Our team, trainers and mentors who need it to help you.
  • Service providers who help us run the site: web hosting, email delivery, analytics (Google) and messaging (WhatsApp). They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
  • A hiring company or partner, but only when you ask us to introduce you or you agree to it.
  • Authorities or advisers, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

Your information is stored on servers in India or where our hosting provider operates. If it is processed outside India, we expect the provider to protect it appropriately.

8. How long we keep it, and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed for the purpose you gave it, and for any period the law requires. After that we delete or anonymise it. Contact lists are cleaned from time to time, and anyone who unsubscribes is kept only as a suppression entry so that we do not email them again.

We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, limited staff access and regular backups. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us at once if you think your account was misused.

9. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and why;
  • correct or update it (you can also edit your profile after signing in);
  • delete it, unless we must keep it by law;
  • stop emails or WhatsApp messages, or withdraw any consent you gave;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you cannot.

Write to contact@samkhyaacademy.com from the email address you registered with. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we aim to reply within 30 days.

10. Young people

Our programs are meant for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please use the site and share information only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If we learn that we hold information about a child without the required consent, we will delete it.

Our pages may link to other websites, such as employers' job pages or social media. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site.

13. Questions or complaints

If you have a question or complaint about your information, please write to us first. We will look into it and reply.
